What does it feel like to be under hypnosis?
As opposed to what people see on shows where someone under hypnosis is acting silly, being under hypnosis does NOT mean losing control. There is a complex scientific explanation as to why people can be instructed to act in silly ways under Hypnosis. I'll just summarize it by saying that the part of the brain which is tied to the Ego and cares what people think, is dormant. The person is then completely objective, clear, laser-focused on the instructions, and has an increased Somatic Function. This is an incredible tool for healing, but unfortunately it gets a bad reputation from Stage Hypnotism. The state of Hypnosis is comparable to a deep meditation, or the natural state that momentarily occurs when you are about to fall asleep at night and about to wake up in the morning. Under Hypnosis you can talk and report to me what you are experiencing, and you remain aware of your surroundings, even though that's not where your focus is. In the instance that a person under Hypnosis hears a fire alarm, for example, he or she will be aware of it and react, just like when asleep. During induction of Hypnosis your brain waves go from the Beta state of alertness, to the Alpha state of restfulness, to the Theta state of reduced awareness of outer-stimuli and enhanced inner-orientation. The Theta state is also the state of dreaming while sleeping and it is the state in which we can access the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is the seat of our deep-rooted emotions, beliefs, habits, and fears and is therefor where the transformation needs to occur. In the deepest state of Theta it is even possible to access the superconscious mind, or the soul-mind, where the record of our existence as souls in the Spirit realms lies.
Can everyone be hypnotized?
Yes, as long as they want to! Nobody can be hypnotized against their will, so as long as you are allowing the process, it will happen. However, some people do require a longer induction, or in the rare occasion an additional session, before achieving a hypnotic state. Usually people who meditate or in general have practiced quieting their minds are the fastest at undergoing hypnosis. Some people are more visual, some auditory, and others simply receive "downloads" of information. Each person's experience is unique, and the most important thing is to trust that you are experiencing what you are ready to experience and that you can always advance further on your journey. All of my clients have reported incredible experiences in their sessions, even those who at first were skeptical about Hypnosis working for them. Children are exceptional hypnosis candidates, as their analytical mind isn't as developed as adult's, and their imagination is very well developed. They exhibit wonderful results and are able to cure emotional issues before they become ingrained in their psyches.
How can I prepare for a session?
Prior to a session it is helpful to avoid caffeine and to eat a hearty meal so that hunger isn't a distraction. Wear comfortable clothing, turn off your cell, and try not to plan anything that requires intense concentration immediately after the session.
For remote sessions: prepare a quiet, private, and comfortable room with a couch or a bed on which you can lie down. Prepare a blanket as people tend to run cold during session, and prepare an eye-cover. I suggest diffusing a relaxing oil, lighting a nice-smelling candle, or burning incense to set a relaxing mood. Make sure you have a good internet connection if the session in on-line (camera isn't an issue since the sessions are calls and not videos), and test your device's microphone.
What is the structure of a session?
The Hypnosis session begins with an "induction" which is the process of inducing a deep state of physical and mental relaxation. Once in a Hypnotic state, the session proceeds according to the type of session planned (parts therapy, womb regressions, etc). The session ends with the return to alert consciousness, followed by a brief summary talk and the answering of any questions. The realizations that follow the session often keep appearing for a long period of time after the session is completed, and so does the evidence of the energetic shift that has occurred. It is better not to analyze too much the session right after it takes place, or to listen immediately to the recording of it.
How many sessions do most people need?
According to a study published by Alfred A. Barrios, people show a 93% success rate after 6 sessions of Hypnotherapy. During the 6 sessions, the brain re-wires and changes it's activity pattern. In addition, different types of sessions are usually appropriate in order to achieve a desired result. For example, in the case of a painful emotional pattern (such as feeling like a victim), it is recommended to do a Parts Therapy session, a Childhood and Womb regression session, two different Past Life Regression sessions, a Spirit Realm session, and a Suggestions sessions. Each session has a specific purpose, and the combination of sessions yields the transformation. Most clients begin to experience Breakthroughs in their first session, or even before, during the intake.
Should I book an in-person session or a remote session?
There are advantages to each type of session. The advantage of an in-person session is that I can create for you the atmosphere of peace and tranquility in my office. Some people like to go to a neutral place for the session and feel less distracted when in a space designated for their session. The advantage of a remote session is that some people feel more comfortable when in their home turf, and feel safer when they are alone and not even seen (the sessions are sound-based, not video-based), plus the added comfort of not needing to drive or take public transportation following the session, and being able to simply rest and be alone for a while. In addition, I travel a lot, so in-person sessions are not always possible, but remote sessions are.
What are workshops like?
The workshops, which are two hours long, begin with a short explanation about Hypnosis, how it works, and what can be achieved through Hypnosis. Depending on the number of participants, it is often possible for each participant to share what he/she would like to specifically address in the workshop. Next is the group session, where the participants receive the induction, the guidance through the Hypnotic journey, and eventually the awakening. Even though the group is receiving the indications as a whole, each person has a unique journey. The last part of the workshop is dedicated to sharing and analyzing individual experiences, as well as asking questions
